In honor of the new year, I thought it appropriate to offer some thoughts and suggestions on setting and following through with our new year’s resolutions. I consider this universal tradition a boon for humankind.
While studying for my masters degree, one professor introduced the concept of support and challenge during one of my courses. At the time, I understood the principle on a basic surface/intellectual level. However,
I remember one recent story of a young teen who saved up her allowance during the year and spent her entire spring break using that money to pay for and do the laundry of disadvantaged, elderly, and disabled people in her neighborhood at a local laundry mat.
We forget how powerful a role emotions play in our lives. Emotions provide clear, direct insight into our inner self. Emotions act like a loving, precise mentor, offering pointing out instructions —> the place for us to start our inner journey
